The child-centered community development approach is the core how Plan addresses child poverty in the countries and the children's rights violations. In addition to all in the projects of the communities involved adults, the children also play an active and important role in overcoming poverty. Plan encourages the girls and boys to develop their potential and to participate actively in community development.

Currently we support with the Foundation two child sponsorships through Plan International Germany. The boy Lei from Angkor Thom in Cambodia and, since August 2010, the girl Some in the north of Laos, a new Plan program area.

Our sponsorships

Quelle:  Plan Laos

Lei (13) from Angkor Thom in  Cambodia. He has five other siblings and lives in very, very poor conditions in the vicinity of the World Heritage Angkor Wat.

Some (9) lives along the Mekong in northern Laos. She lives with her mother and another six siblings in a country typical bamboo hut near the border to China and Myanmar.

Outlook

In the future we will continue to support child sponsorships with the foundation. Right now we want to leave it with the two godchildren and put the direct project contributions more and more into the foreground.
