Here are some important key points to us in the course of time of our foundation work.

  • Volunteer at COLT in Cambodia

    August 19th - October 10th, 2013

After his first visit to the orphanage in Phnom Penh in Cambodia, it was seen that the operation can only be obtained with many ongoing volunteers. That is why Michael has decided to work  there as a volunteer for two months.

All children of the orphanage get connected in their own school computer classes, which is not at all self-evident in Cambodia at state schools. My objective was to standardize the existing teaching content and to make it more demanding. For that I implemented the recognized ICDL (International Computer Driver License) program, which substantially improves the educational content and allows the children to get a formal certificate which facilitates their career.

  • Donation to the Philippines relief

    November 2013

How early November reported versatile in the media the typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines affected up to two million children by the impact. For this reason, we spontaneously decided to follow Plan Internationals fund raising call to support them for their relief work on the ground with a donation. Survivors and relief experts are faced with enormous challenges and need our help.

Around 9.5 million people are affected by the effects of the typhoon - including all plan program areas. These include Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, Western Samar, Southern Leyte, Masbate and Mindoro Occidental. In the program areas more than 40,000 sponsored children and their families live. Especially the children are the first action on the ground, because they are particularly vulnerable in the current situation.

  • Change in the foundation statutes

    April, May 2013

With our foundation, we have promoted only Plan International Germany in the past, the organization of children's aid. In the spring we have decided to amend our Foundation's statutes so that we can now support other NGO organizations in their project work too. Of course, in the future we will also support Plan, but now we have more choices and opportunities to choose meaningful projects.

  • Back from our Nepal trip

    October 5th -  December 27th, 2011

Nearly three months we were in Nepal. It was our goal to get socially involved during our stay, preferably with the Plan organization with which we cooperate for so long. And this has worked. After our trek, we were active for more than a month in Nepal as Plan Volunteers. During this time, we got much more insight into the diverse programs and projects of Plan.

All these events and experiences we have summarized in an eight-page report. Also photos from our new and fantastic experience can be found on the website photo gallery.

  • Our next long trip to Nepal

    September 2011

In early October we will go for several weeks to Nepal. In addition to the touristy part of the trip, a 24-day trek to the foot of Mt Everest, we want to get social involved on site for the first time. We are already in contact with Plan International and intend to get from them a volunteer assignment in Nepal.

As soon as we have more information we will share it with you on the foundation website or by e-mail.

  • Another sponsorship ends

    July 2011

Manjil (18) from Nepal lives with his family in the Terai region, on the border to India. Since 2000, we supported his development. In April 2009 we had the opportunity to meet him and his family personally. Now reaching his 18th Year of life his sponsoring has unfortunately ended.

You can also download our sponsor visit report of our first visit to him in his village near the Chitwan National Park in the south of the country.

  • Plan now as well in Laos with a new project area

    August 2010

Plan International has now begun in Laos with their project work. For us it was obvious to take the next child sponsoring in Laos. So far, we always left Plan the freedom to choose our sponsor child. After three sponsorships of boys it was our wish that this time it's a girl. Some became our new goddaughter and she is funded by our Foundation on a monthly basis. She is just 6 years old and it will take certainly several years before it makes sense to visit her and her family on the Mekong River.

  • Our first sponsorship ends

    June 2010

Duy (18) in Vietnam was our first sponsor child with Plan International, Germany. The sponsorship was for 13 years. We were fortunate in being able to visit him twice in the north of Vietnam. Both visits with him and his family were something very special for us with everlasting memories. With the age of 18 years the Plan sponsorship is terminated automatically. The many and beautiful experience with Duy and the seen, sustainable Plan project work on site have led to take on even more sponsorships in Asia over time.
