On many of our trips in the past few years, we have seen things that have made us very thoughtful and concerned. In 1997 these impressions has moved us to take successively three sponsorships for children in Vietnam, Nepal and Cambodia with Plan International Germany. With these sponsorships sustainable self-help projects will be financed from which the sponsored children, their families and communities benefit. Several times we personally could convince us on the ground by successful completion of supported programs.
Because we wanted to anchor our commitment in the long term, we set up this Foundation from private funds to support children with a focus in developing countries in Asia. Education and health are important elements to combat poverty and therefore focus of our Foundation work in partnership with Plan International and other NGO's.
We can give something to the other. It is not always necessary to get something before you give something.
